I grew up on the beautiful Crystal Coast of Eastern NC, a place where at any given time I was less than a couple miles from the salt air and shell covered sand. My days were met with an ocean breeze and always with a brush in my hand.
After earning a BFA in Painting and Drawing from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!), I lived at the coast for a few more years before moving to Buffalo, NY with my husband.
For the last decade these hands have been occupied with molding three sweet little boys in hopes that they become three strong & tender men. Until the day I leave this earth, they will be my proudest accomplishment.
My entrance into Motherhood didn't stop the painting. This season of life—the paradigm shift a woman goes through when she brings life into the world from her own body— fueled my deep seeded need to make art. Day by day, even if the morning light wasn't met with a brush in my hand, my dreams were filled with strokes on a canvas.
There has never been a medium that called to my heart quite like paint. I want to be surrounded by it, consumed by it and let loose in front of a wide open road where I can drive that passion until there isn't road left.
My paintings are filled with lines, patterns, bright colors, florals, expressive motion & strokes that shoot out of my hands like rockets (hey, at least thats what it feels like). I have been Live Painting for 14 years and there are few things I love more. It brings me so much joy to paint days that are special to my clients. I would love the opportunity to talk with you more about how to capture your love in paint.
